Your roof does need to be power washed. Do that first before you paint.

I tried making it all lighter, a couple of times... Your mileage may vary. :)

I wanted to go cream, but I actually find I prefer the one that minimizes the odd striping and other unnecessary paint-based emphases. (That is, I like the first of these, although I'd edge it more tan and less pink.) Then, bright front door, planters and other fun stuff to emphasize your entry.

Thanks to both of you for the renditions, BeverlyFLADeziner and acm! I like the dark (non-maroon) brown with the taupe gabled area, BUT it is a really small house. The all over lighter tans might be more expansive/less choppy. I do want a black rectangular planter either on the porch or out on the pavers with my house numbers on it.

A teal front door would work with the pink and the tans, but... I guess a fuchsia or purple door would be too much?

Teal is a bad idea with pinky browns I think . . . eggplant is a brilliant idea. Look at bm dark purple, bm autumn purple . .

libradesigneye Thank you so much for the paint sample links. I absolutely love the Autumn Purple for the door :-) And the Whispering Woods has a nice pinky undertone. I might use two different taupes, darker on the soffits and vertical trim and lighter on the gable and around the door.

Funny, I never cared for pink in my wardrobe; I was a redhead so I wore autumn colors. Now that I am silver-haired, the gray-purples-pinks are quite nice. Thanks again for your ideas.

Wow. Can't believe it took a year to finally get around to painting my house. A lot of other projects in between.
