Yes, they just drape down the outside of the cage with no problems.

PS: you might want to use bigger stakes than the plastic bamboo ones and tie the cage to it in several places. Once the plant gets fully developed it doesn't take much to lay them over cage and all.

They look like concrete reinforcing mesh cages. I use them, and I just let the tomatoes spill over the top if they want. Often they will grow quite a ways up without spilling over.

Be aware that when the tomatoes drape they tend to make a little

Most indeterminant varieties grow well over 6ft tall. So when you make cages from 5ft CRW, by the time you stick the legs in the ground it will be about 4ft tall. So the cage hold the basic mass of the plant up to a certain height. You can amend it by adding wooden or rebar stakes to extend the cage. I do that a a few 3/4 ring cages that I have from past.

In my raised beds I make a rectangular structure and frame it, then use twins/rope to weave further.It is a kind of big wooden cage that I build on the bed. Some people make similar structure using PVC but I like working with cedar lumber.

But I was wondering if 4 poles (2x4 by 8 ft. high) wrapped up
with a Wire Fence or Heavy-Duty Nylon Trellis (much cheaper, easier to work, and lasts a few years) could be a good idea
in your case ? It only takes a few hours (and a few bucks), but you have a nice, reliable, long-lasting support for your plants.
