I have a hard time seeing green in your counter. The important thing to remember is that you need to choose a backsplash that coordinates with the counter. Choose a large enough sample of the backsplash to determine what goes with the counter. You are always good using a cream color subway tile with a medium color grout.

Are you saying that you are thinking of a bamboo floor rather than a luxury vinyl floor since the bamboo is cheaper? Or more costly? I think the samples you showed are perfect for the kitchen & will be easier on the feet than a tile.

Sandradclark, I know the picture doesn't show the true color of the granite. There is a hint of green ( maybe a little more than a hint) throughout. Maybe it's the lighting. I will try and add other pictures that better reflect the kitchen counters The flooring I guess I was thinking of bamboo because it's more eco-friendly . I actually don't know if it would be more or less expensive than the vinyl tile.

blenheimnewzealand, thank you so much for your help and effort. I like the light floor too. I am definitely going with a light floor. Now the backsplash, I think I will look at some glass subway tile. Thank you again.

I feel like I need to edit my original question. I guess I may have been tired and didn't clearly express what my dilemma is or what is causing me the most problem. Really it's my granite. I thought I really liked it in the showroom and it looked really great with the cabinet sample. Now that it is installed, I wished I would have chosen another granite ( one with a more warm color like cream which I think would be so much easier to match backsplash to) because the granite can look green at times but then again it can look gray at times. I really do not like how gray looks with my cabinets. I have gone to several and I mean several places to look for a backsplashes. I am trying to stay away from anything gray. Gray and beautiful rich cherry wood don't go together, I think. I am looking for something that would go with the cabinets and the granite but is not gray. Sorry for going on and on.

If you are set on color for counter tops go from there only if you own them however I'd go with a feel of the room cause u can always get a deal on grantite

JDB Contracting, the granite it purchased and installed and I just have to live with it now. I decided on a green glass subway tile for my backsplash and that 's installed too. Now the only problem is the floor. I will try and post a picture of what the kitchen looks like now with the granite and backsplash installed. I actually did post the pictures when I asked Houzz again for some advice and suggestions on the flooring. Not sure if I can figure out how to post one of those pictures here. I'll try. Wow!
