As the rooted leaves of my named AV's start producing plantlets (yes, let's call them babies) I'm faced with the same conundrum. What to do with all the duplicates, triplicates, etc. etc. !

I don't want to dump them but, at the same time I don't see the point of keeping them.

Suggestions anyone ?

Pot them up and give them to friends. Old age homes , hospitals.:) velleta

As far as nursing homes go, I've had (unfortunately) several experiences with them; none very good. My father was in two, my mother one, my wife one, and I myself had to spend three days in one having been incapacitated with some broken bones.

In none of these places were the caretakers involved any more than they had to be. Houseplants wouldn't have been taken care of, and in fact would have probably been disposed of if brought in.

So sorry Leon. The place I was in for my right knee replacement I wouldn't send ANYONE there. The second place for the left knee was great. But I think it has to be a special place like where my friend is. There probably aren't too many like that. None that I know of in my county.

Fortunately for me, 3 of the gals at therapy are interested in all kinds of house plants including violets! Oh they don't know a whole bunch, but I am slowly taking in a little of this and a little of that. AND educating them in the process!

One of the gals is interested in starts from my outdoor flower bed. I have to downsize it anyway and it beats throwing them away!!!!! Rosie

Well, you can send some my way, if you truly have more than you know what to do with. Already doing some plant stuff with this check but if you wanted a good home for some I could pay shipping in a couple weeks.

Also, maybe I need to reconsider the 5 leaves of my NOID lavendar violet I just potted up... that I already have 3 of... hmmm.
