I have several 6 petaled blooms. I'm just wondering how 'common' this is, since I've noticed other enthusiasts tend to show off the 6 petal blooms a little more. Of course, I must add to the trend. :D I have four so far.

I think my cutting put out too many 6 petaled blooms and ran out of energy for this one. LOL

I am so jealous!! I am going to post my cuttings progress in another post. Although I am extremely proud that I have leaves at all - these pictures are phenomenal! My thanks to the person on this list who mailed cuttings to me as well as seeds which are all thriving!

I think got extremely lucky that I have two blooming inflows my first year growing plumeria. It is so awesome, but like you, I am also VERY happy to have leaves on the rest of my cuttings. Looking forward to seeing your photos. :)

I just posted my cuttings - but not the ones I bought with roots from a nursery in Florida (mail ordered). I will also post a separate post about them. I do have a question for you. I can't tell how tall your trunks are before the inflow at the top. Are they very tall??

It's a guess, but I'd say the trunk is approximately 20 inches from the tip of the branch to the soil line. Not including the inflo.

Fruit Punch is STILL blooming. Not as much as before, but still going, with more buds forming. I really LOVE the way this particular bloom faded.

Well, this bad (good? LOL) boy is STILL blooming. Very slowly, but there is almost always one open bud at all times. Every time I think it's just about done, I see more buds forming. Was curious if this is regular blooming behavior? I'm sure different varieties act differently, but in general, do inflos keep pushing buds and blooms like this?

One other question if I may... if a cutting/plant is going to push an inflo coming out of dormancy, is it always before the leaves form or is it more cultivar dependent? Both of my inflos this year formed before any leaves and I was curious if that was something I could watch for next year.

Both answers are almost the same. Some varieties are more prone to both behaviors and some are not.

It seems you have found a balance between sun, water, and nutrients which at this stage this plant is responding well. Great job.

Thank you kms! I wish I could take credit, but I'm pretty sure the reasons this plant are doing so well have nothing to do with me. LOL A combination of good genetics, sheer dumb/beginner's luck and neglect.

It is in full sun, but there's been so much rain lately that I haven't been able to water OR fertilize. It seems strange to say, but I'm starting to think that a certain level of neglect might almost be 'required'. My plumeria seem happier to be left to their own devices than babied.
