Dimensions of Mattress Space? Materials?

What is the length, width and depth of the mattress space? I would like to ensure my current mattress will fit in neatly.

Is the finish walnut veneer or is this frame made from solid wood?

Thanks for your inquiry. The bed is veneer. A king mattress is 76" x 80" so the inside dimensions will be slightly larger. The slats for the mattress to sit on are approx 4"-5" so you'll be good with a 10-13" mattress on average without it taking up too much space on the headboard.
