Am I doing this right?

I am putting down a new subfloor and just want to make sure I'm going down the right path. The subfloor is going down over existing plank board. I will be screwing down existing plank board to joists and replacing where there are holes or it is weak. I'll be using 3/4" tongue and groove subfloor.

Now the questions:
* Do I need to let the subfloor acclimate to the house before install?

* I'll be gluing and then screwing the subfloor into the plank board. I've been told NOT to screw into the joists. Is this right? Do I actually need to glue the subfloor to the plank board?

* What do I do for spacing around the outside edges of the new 3/4" subfloor? Do I need to space at all?

Thank you!
