Yes, appears to be variegated red-twigged dogwood, Cornus sericea (or stolonifera) cultivar with variegated leaves.

Poor choice for cubed shaping. Yes, it will seem to "work" for a while but with each passing year, what you will be left with is a shell of living tissue with a knotted-up mess of dead and dying twigs just interior to this green shell. Then the following year, trying to again prune down to this same size and shape, it will be that much worse.

Only very fine-textured shrubs, things like box, yews, etc. really work well sheared. And shearing into tightly cubic shapes is almost never the best treatment, even when and where shearing is desired.

Multi-stemmed shrubs like this dogwood should really only ever be pruned via renewal pruning. Look that up or ask us back, if you wonder what that consists of.

Plus Dogwood produces flowers on this year's wood so pruning it will prune away any flower buds.

The flowers on this one are fairly insignificant, so removal is not an issue. It's the foliage and winter stems people grow it for and those are improved by coppicing.

Thanks everyone. I'm looking for something I can sculpt into more of a cube shape without hurting the plant. Only seen a few examples in the neighborhood. Suggestions?
