Just carefully remove the current covers and use them as a pattern for the new ones. You probably won't even need to sew - the raw edges of the fabric are folded under and tacked into place.

You should be able to find the foam at JoAnn's or any fabric store that sells home décor stuff.

These chairs should be pretty easy. Your fabric selection can make a difference--a stripe or plaid will need to be kept straight so it requires more patience. You will need a heavy duty stapler.

If those are coil spring seats you're going to be very busy and very dirty if the insides need to be reworked. Quite an undertaking! They also look to me as though they ARE coil springs. ( I am a master craftsman upholsterer with 40 years experience.)

If you don't have to deal with fixing coil springs, then yes, you can do it yourself. One of my winter projects is to recover my dining room chairs.

So, how did that work out for you? I agree with an above poster who said that these chairs probably have coils in them. You dont' get that shape of seat with foam.

My apologies for not getting back and thanking everyone. I lost track of the thread! I ended up keeping the parsons chairs I had and plan to try to slipcover them. I'll be posting another question related to that soon.
