My husband and I are going to attempt this thus weekend! Any advice?

Looks great but I'm wondering if its staged rather than part of a working kitchen- the herbs will need drainage holes surely and the plants themselves will grow vertically rather than inclined as shown, whatever the tip angle of the jar.
Looks lovely but not certain it would look that great a week or two later! Some tweaking could reproduce a wonderful realistic and workable effect though!
Will look forward to hearing how you all go with this project.

I think if I put river rocks in the bottom of the jars and enough perlite in the soil, they should be ok.

Can't tell from the photo, but it has to be either solid surface or white composite quartz (like Granitex or Ceasar stone)

do herbs require a lot of sunlight? would that be a problem or concern if I replicate this?

I think most require close to 4-6 hours of direct sunlight, I think you'd need artificial light to realistically do this.

this is so wonderful and challenging, i wish the designer had provided instructions- has anyone actually constructed one yet?? i am envisioning this in my kitchen- as a medicinal herb grower, i really want one- and would prefer hearing if anyone has accomplished this yet.

If anyone attempts this spice rack, please let us know how you did it and if it worked! I'm a little skeptical, but it would be so awesome if it could be accomplished.

If mason jars are not the main attraction to this spice rack, they sell small magnetized spice jars to hang on magnetic wall boards (i bought mine on Amazon) I hang mine on side of fridge without spices, but could be adapted to a wood board with metal squares or strips and then perhaps a few mason jars or just traditional sized spice jars with a little water to keep some sprigs of herbs at a time?
