WOW... you can take this opportunity to find what truly makes YOU smile! What did you save from your old home? Can you share a few pieces you LOVE? I uploaded the living room pics here. You can see the fireplace is tile but in the design of rough hewn wood, which I love. The mantle wood is salvaged from the original part of the house (it was rehabbed). The front door is a heavy brown door with iron handle, kind of barn like. I would love to do industrial farmhouse. I love your graphic idea! It fits with my profession. I need to incorporate a desk in the family room for me, as I work from home. I really don't have much that we're bringing with us...

lovely home, how lucky you are. i want you to be happy and i am not feeling this. i look in your ideabooks and i see lovely light filmy rooms, no heaviness at all the industrial seems to limited to gray wood. why don't you do this just to check how you really feel. you need a desk, you work from home, so lets go to a craftsman and see what you want him to make for you. i think it might hide a few surprises and take the least amount of time to solve. i don't want to hinder you with gears when you really want is wings!

Do you happen to have a floor plan (even if rough but with measurements). This way the desk area can be carved out before you buy furniture.

Wow! your new home looks amazing! I would choose very modern furniture to go along with the rest of the modern house. Something Italian style (straight cuts on the furniture) very slim and modern. Definitely not bulky big furniture. It would also be nice to add some "pop of color" to your furniture, depending on how comfortable you feel about it. For example, since the rest of the house is grey, and dark colors, a red sofa, or red accent chair would definitely pop and give the room some life.

The house is very modern so I would go with modern, contemporary and colorful colors for the rest of decor; couches and wall art.
