I am pretty sure it was sifted too finely for any eggs to be in it and I haven't seen one yet. It is somewhere between fine ground coffee for an espresso machine and a course ground coffee for something like a french press. What is the consistency of the stuff you got?

You can buy cocoons on ebay if you would like to have some. They aren't terribly priced as long as you wait for a decent listing. Saw 500 for like $15.

VermiCOMPOST (not as completely processed as castings) has a much better chance of having unhatched cocoons than VermiCASTINGS that are normally as close to 100% processed as they can get it. But unless the VermiCOMPOST specifically SAYS what worms they used, keep in mind that you may not get cocoons for the species you were expecting.

Buy afew worms and if they are happy you will have babies!!

red wigglers, you can order at ebay, buy at bait shops and also order on line from several different suppliers. Red wigglers are the only worms which eat decaying materials so if you put cantaloupe seeds in your bin those will sprout at a later date. Penny
