We are remodeling our kitchen and plan to use wood countertops. We visited a reclaimed wood shop today that had amazing, huge pine slabs. We love the look of pine but are concerned about the end grain around the sink. I've read forums regarding the issue and noted a community member lakeaffect (signs sandy ponder) has this setup. We are looking to hear if anyone has long term outcome information about the wood around the sink. I'd love to hear from those with pine regarding durability and what finish was used.
