Marble is more porous than granite. It will stain easier with dyed materials such as wine, ketchup etc, as well as oils. White will especially show stains the most. Just be sure that you have it sealed and you will need to keep that up at least every year. Check with you local stone field to see what they recommend.

I do not have marble countertops in my kitchen. My girlfriend has it in her absolutely gorgeous kitchen. She also has 4 young children and entertains. She is not a fan.
