Your shutters are not nearly large enough for the windows over the garage so I have added board and batten shutters that are wider and removed them from the other window.

I personally think shutters are winding down on houses.

I much prefer the wide plank brick mould shown in your inspiration pictures. That would be my preference. you could do one window that way in the back of th house and see what you think but very trending right now.

This shows a large area of glass but reminded me of your windows. Just an idea.

I love the color of your house and I would not change anything!

Do not put shutters on the left large window. Great idea for the shutters to fit the right side windows. Love the color. Leave the door as is, it is lovely. Perhaps groveraxle can give you a rendering with changing the shutters &/or the door.

Shutters are not winding down - some styles work with them, some don't. Wider board and batten shutters are not ideal on this house .. they are more rustic but you have a colonial thing going. The white shutters are high contrast and work ok - slightly wider panel shutters would be perfect. Consider adding rafter tails under the upper story overhang corners where you've painted the trim white in front in white. More of them in even spacing along the garage facade . . . The inspiration pic with the orange door has no shutters. Can someone photoshop your house with all shutters removed?

Another opinion...I would remove the shutters and paint/stain the front door, the same color as the railing. If you wanted a bit more interest, down the road you could add a pergola over the garage.
