Window treatments

Hi. We are towards the end of a remodel that pushed out our living room wall about six feet and we removed a beam and short wall which separated the dining room. I'm ready to look at window treatments and need help. Today they are painting the ceiling white and walls Banana Cream from SW. I wanted white faux wood blinds, but our largest window is 8', which is too wide as they will be too heavy. So now looking at honeycomb type shades in white. Three of the four windows are on a west wall. Any advise on if solid white (white backs) will be too bright when sun is fading in the west? Should I get a different backing? Don't want to go too dark, but other options? I also thought of putting white sheer drapes on either side of the windows. Thoughts? Trying to lighten things up as we have large navy leather furniture, big black tv, etc. Glass tables, tho. Trying to convince my husband we need a new white front door too. Thanks so much!
