We bought an older home in a wonderful walking neighborhood just three blocks from upscale high rise office buildings and major retail. A residential oasis in North Atlanta. We are beginning a three phase total renovation. The front of the house and a 30' wide front porch is first. We have resolved all materials and details except the floor.

We have looked at several composites & ipe and nixed pressure treated pine in the beginning. There are so many bad reviews of composite with life spans shorter than what we experienced at our lake front home with pressure treated 5/4 planks. Ipe seems to be a good choice but the wide range of color is a concern.

Any advice is appreciated.
