I want an old farmhouse look if possible. Living in the Midwest. Leaving trim white. Adding exterior lighting. hardscape/softscape

I'd take a colour queue from New England Salt Box houses.

I'd keep an Oxblood tone, paint out the white borders to match and adjust the windows (either paint or replace) to reference the double hung windows in a heritage trim such as pale grey or mustard.

Alternatively, all white with a contrasting window fame in black or charcoal.

It's got a great shape

White will say modern farmhouse a bit more than navy here because your window sash lines are contemporary so the navy will feel more contemporary too.

Don't paint the chimney form the same ... either consider wrapping the chimney form with horizontal running corrugated metal panels in natural galvanized finish (and matching this with your lights) or for now .. add horizontal trim and bolts /nuts and paint the entire chimney form with a metallic look sort of orb paint until you can use stone veneer or another material to call it out.

Consider a bright yellow front door, galvanized tubs of flowering shrubs, metal on the chimney

What about a grey with white trim?

I like the idea of the Navy modern farm house design. I believe that the white will be hard to maintain over time, whereas the Navy will last longer and hold the color for much longer.

Nothing says "farmhouse" to me like white. This one uses HDPE (high-density polyethylene) as siding - interesting application you might use somewhere.

This one has a board and batten application and some barn-door sliders if you could find a way to use them.
If you paint the house navy (or other color than white) please don't outline it it white as it boxes in the house, stops the eye and makes the home look chopped up.

How about a really soft gray with the white trim and turquoise barn lights. White and navy might be too harsh in different ways. Good luck :)
