the boys, arnold and harley, prefer to lay in front of the fan in the barn. lilly, however LOVES the mud wallow. found her taking a nap recently...

she absolutely coats herself in thick mud! she is due for another adequan injection in a couple of days. not sure i'll be able to find a clean spot! LOL

a face only a mother could love. <3 that's arnold in the background. he rubbed up against her side and got mud on himself. haha

sock, the adequan is for arthritis. she started showing signs last fall of being painful. i noticed her walking on her front knees much of the time. talked to the vet and we tried several medications but nothing was helping very much. he thought trying adequan was our only other option. within a couple of weeks of starting it, she was back up on all fours and doing so much better!

she gets one injection a month (same as olivia, the dane, is getting for the same condition) and yes, i give them to her. she knows when i crawl into the corner of the barn where she's laying that she is gonna get popped. she is so used to it, she just objects by grunting and squealing at me. as soon as the needle goes in, she lays still for the injection. when it's all over, she gets up and saunters off with a grunt. LOL

OMG. They are happy critters. Adequan is for what? Do you give the injection?

Well, I think Lilly is just into facials!! Your pigs are adorable and I am glad Lilly cooperates with her injections since I'm pretty sure she would win any battle, right? Thanks for sharing those cute pictures!!

oh yes, there's no way possible i would ever be able to force her to lay still! she outweighs me in a big way. ;)

Don't you find it amazing that, like horses, animals that large seem to know when you are helping them and not hurting them. So smart!!

Lovely pigs.. there are piglets at the Trad Farms here in Killarney and watching them play is amazing... One black, one white
