Exterior facelift

Hey Folks,

I'm looking for input on the best approach to a facelift for my 1930 home. The house is a hodge-podge of several different architectural styles - Craftsman, colonial farmhouse, and California bungalow. It sits high off the ground due to an unfinished crawlspace creating a large, unbroken facade of siding. It sports a side-entry (moving the entry to the front is not an option at this point), 6" wood clapboards, casement windows and plantation shutters. The spacing/sizing of the front windows create a bit of a cyclops look to me - maybe it's just me, though.

I'm a bit of a purest in that I want the home to stay true to one architectural theme; however, I'm not opposed to some more modern materials, such as a standing seam roof, stone veneer, etc.

Willing to consider: roofline changes, window changes, soffit/rafter changes, removal of basement windows, bay windows, painting, exterior trim work, landscaping, etc.

Not willing to consider: moving entry to front of house (requires major remodel based on interior layout).

Forgive the less-than-optimal photos. The trees in front make it difficult to get a good angle of the front facade.

Thanks in advance for all your ideas!
