Super random wall sconce

My husband and I just purchased our first home, and in the living room is a really random 2-light wall sconce. From what I've seen, most wall sconces frame a center item, or exist in a series. Any ideas on what to do with this one hookup? The corner does need light, but I have no idea what would look intentional or how to arrange the living room in such a way that it doesn't feel like a mistake. As you can see below, we are seriously in progress.

Sorry, but you cannot just cover with drywall. You still have live wires to deal with which can be a fire hazard. And it's illegal to cover it up. You could have an electrical come in and lower it down and turn it into an outlet. Or you maybe able to cap the wires and put a removable metal plate over and paint it the wall color but check with an electrician.

I wonder if that electrical outlet was made for a TV outlet and they just put in a fixture in the meantime? Anyway, just drywall over it, but take a photo of where it is located just in case you may want to resurrect it later.

Not ideal, but you could hardwire a hanging light and swag it from the ceiling.

I'm not an expert on the technical aspects of the electrical wires but I'd find a safe way to get rid of the sconce and make it disappear. Surely there's a way.

What's directly on the other side of the wall where the sconce is? You might be able to pull the wire through to the other side and cap it.

Electrical can not be covered with drywall they need to be accessible i would have an electrician see if those wires could just be pulled back the drywall the hole and then get an arc lamp fot that corner
