What's your favorite quilt block/pattern?

I've been looking at photos of quilts and trying to decide what I want to do next. It made me curious. What are your favorites? Do you have an all time favorite quilt pattern?

Now this is a 64k question( for those of us who rember that show!). Can't say I have a real favorite, but I find myself going back to these two blocks whenever I'm using several blocks in a quilt. One is another star, and the other flower garden path...links to each:

The birdhouse we did as part of the lotto one year and Kate won, she made an outdoor wall hanging with her blocks...just too cute!

Oh yeah, I'm also a fan of star flower

I love Bears Paw. I like lots of others, too, but that one has been on my bucket list for years.

The first one that came to mind is Feathered Star. I also like medallions like Lone Star.

It's usually the one I'm working on at the time. But, I've always loved the 'cathedral window' and 'Dresden plate' looks...

Hsreball I like the birdhouse block you posted. Log cabin and bear pay are the ones I want to try - someday!

Carolnv - I think the birdhouse block was actually in one of the lottos a year or two ago. I wasn't here then but was looking around and thought it was adorable :)

you are correct, HareB. The birdhouse was a lotto block and it's paper pieced...was the first PP that I've done...lots of fun. You should try it!

The paper pieces make me nervous lol I'm working on making a tie for my husband and cutting out the pattern alone was a chore haha :D I'll have to try it one day though cos those birdhouse quilts are adorable :)

Okay, I remember the paper piecing lotto, but didn't look into it, because of the fear of trying it. But I made a heart pp mug rug for Valentine's Day this year and really liked it! I'm going to search for the link and try the birdhouse. We love birds and have 3 budgies/parakeets right now and hummingbirds, quails and finches galore in our backyard!

I guess I like six pointed stars and all their variations the best. But it is a very difficult question to answer. Also love the endless variety you can get from simple string blocls.

I would have to say Depression Block would be my favorite. But you could also say it is HSTs since that is how it is made.
