My friend let me dissect her rams horn looking African violet duo this evening. I should have taken pictures, it was a sucker that had been allowed to stay on the main plant so long it was hard to tell which was which, both hard a long and gnarled neck, looking for all the world like a vegetative rams horn. I noticed mealies on them during the dissection process, at that point we had already cut them back so carried on with what needed to be done.

They are now seperated, pruned back as far as I could convince her to let me, in seperate pots of good AV mix and perlite, in ziplock bags to start rooting.

But... what to do about the bugs? We found a few other plants in her collection with them and treated with rubbing alcohol, but remain uncertain about the best solution with the violets. I myself have yet to deal with pesky bugs on my own AV's (knock on would), and really could use some input.
