I can't really speak to durability per se. I have had both. Black in one bathroom and white in the other and the kitchen. The paint held-up equally well in all locations.

I do believe the black cabinets show so much more dust than the white and dirt in general. I thought it was just the towel lint in the bathroom, but the black stove in the kitchen is just as bad....

I love how the black looks, I just will never do it again. I prefer the white or a walnut or mahogany wood- which are dark, but not black.

I have white uppers and black lowers. We used to have a black island and then it was destroyed in a flood. Now we have a white island. I would say both are equally durable. With black cabs, I recommend staining black rather than painting. It is much more durable.
