I suppose it might work if you don't mind Rozeanne's long, non rooting stems twining out 3 or 4 feet. R. is not a clumper but a twiner, and often looks best twining into other plants.

I have used it in a pot until it got too big but it took 3 yrs for that to happen. When you get long stems direct them back into the pot.. I will try to explain. Don't put the end of the stem but sort of bend it and place the bend part on the soil you might need to put a rock on top to keep the bent part in place but it will root and send out a new arm.

I use a lot of perennial plants in pots because I hate buying a bunch of annuals every year for the pots on the patio.
