Hello,

I'm new to this community but after googling design things the past few weeks and always having this website show up in the feed with help, I thought I'd try it out. So I don't have a talent for design as you'll see in my photos After Pinterest and other google searches I'm already realizing several things I've done wrong (photos over the piano? and rug in kitchen is too small), but what I really need help with is furniture placement in my living room and curtain advice and also wall art/picture advice. We recently moved into a cute little home with our small family. We rent for now, so keep that in mind. I was looking for an entry table to place on the wall across from the door where the orange chair is now. I found this dresser and measured it and thought it would fit. It was only $50 and I thought I could resell it for more if I didn't like it. (I measured the space before hand but grossly overestimated how big a piece could be.) well no surprise but it is to big for that wall. So I thought I'd try it by the window and I actually like it. But that means we'll only have one arm chair and it kind of looks silly there or does it. (I'm also not very attached to the arm chair...it was free.) This room is more of a formal room. We have a family room downstairs, so I don't think seating is a big issue. But what are your thoughts on the arrangement? Also, I'm trying to decide what curtains to get. I have red across the wall in the dining room. I was thinking of these red flowered ones from ikea. (http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/70261923/) but another thread I saw suggested they are more bedroom curtains. I have no clue abt stuff like that. ;) and I'm not sure if they'd go with the pillows. Or are the other red ones better?

I'm also wondering about the window behind the couch. What do I do with that? Cover it? And what can be done with the walls on either side of the Windows? There isn't much space to work with. So any advice to a novice would be much appreciated. Someday I'd like to take a class and learn a little bit.
