need help for a sitting room

This use to be our dining room but we never used it so I want to make it into a fun sitting room. Just wondering what kind of chairs to get. The walls are going to be painted a lighter tan/gray. Going to get a cream area rug but stumped on furniture. It measures about 10.8X12.7. Any suggestions will help. Thank you!

Just a room with chairs or seating. No tv, no fireplace. Just 1 full wall and then the wall with the window otherwise wide open. It's right when you walk in the front door. So I want it to be fun and stunning!

Think you need to clarify your meaning for "sitting" room...this would define what kind of seating would be appropriate...Adding what sort of activities you plan for this room would help also...

Also...Take a look at photos on Houzz...type in "sitting rooms" ...there are lots of ideas for seating there...

Think about 4 good sized chairs with a coffee table in the middle. Just a place to sit and chat maybe have a cup of coffee or a drink?

Also love this small sectional with extra chair and coffee table.

whenever i have a room like that, i always put a lot of art on the walls, i get one very nice looking table with a centerpiece and it should have a drawer for a pen to sign documents. i would then have a pair of comfy chairs with a small table for tea by the fire or the window?

Could the blinds either be removed or opened? Natural light adds so much appeal to a home. I would keep the colors warm in order to add the most charm. Fabric window treatments could be added after the furniture has been chosen.
