You do not have to dig up the pavers. In event of a leak under the pavers you will need to jet under the pavers with a white pvc pipe that is big enough to slide a black pipe through. Hook the pvc pipe up to a hose and use the water pressure to help you slide the pvc pipe under the pavers. There should be lots on info on the web on how to jet a pipe under a walkway. Once you have the pvc pipe under the walkway than you can slide the black pipe through it. You will use the new pipe to connect to your heads on either side of the walkway.
