Kitchen Backsplash

last modified: 10 years ago

I am updating my small kitchen. The architecture of my home is Mediterranean/Southwestern contemporary (Stucco exterior, red tile roof, Saltillo tile floor) designed in the 1980s. I would like to remove tile counter tops and back splash and replace it with granite. My delima is I don't think any backsplash tile is a good match for the granite I have selected. Would using a full granite installation(granite on both the counter top and the backsplash) be overpowering or would it simplify the pattern in this small kitchen? I can't seem to find any examples of this installation on houzz. Is it not embraced by decorators? By the way, I am replacing the sink with a black composite granite.
