Paint it with a primer, white. I guess it needs to decorated first before you can say much about it. It does not look really off (the fireplace is a little high I must say), but has no wow-factor yet either.

Like this?

Align the fire place with opening at the bottom, and put nice art on top to balance it

I really like the idea of the 2 sided fireplace right there for 2 rooms to utilize and enjoy. I think considering how small the wall is, the size is scaled right. It will look great once finished. As for whether it should have been higher or lower in relation to the shelves, was there some logic to putting it at the height in the first place?

Thanks for the feedback!

Seems too high for a fireplace. I would center it if possible.

As long as the bottom of the fireplace trim is in line with the trim of the bottom opening it will look cool. Or high enough above so that it is centered on the dividing space between openings. Just as long as it looks well planned with some sort of balance.

Thanks! Yes, part of the drywall still needs to be trimmed away. We wanted "cool" too, but I was still struggling with it. So appreciate your feedback!
