Blooming Today: Snow Edelweiss

The lovely Russian African violet known as 'Snow Edelweiss' is in bloom again today. It seems to be less effected by Georgia heat than some of my others. The blooms have very little white on them in summer, but a lot more white in cooler weather. Which amuses me, because I have other varieties that are the opposite and bloom mostly white now and more colored in winter.

That is really gorgeous. What part of Georgia are you? I am in the NE Georgia mountains. Still pretty hot up here, too. My violets are being sluggish to bloom this year.

If you can't find it, Amour Elite is more or less about identical and may be easier to find. There is another version called Cajun's Ethereal Fairy that is very similar but with puff fantasy. It's also stunning and on my wanted list. And finally there is a little known version called K's Dancing Spree that is like the first two but with variegated leaves. I'm watching out for that one too.
