Warm golds and beiges look nice on stucco homes with red tile roofs. I would also paint the garage door the same color so it becomes less of a focal point. I also think the house is slightly caught between styles. Red tile roofs and stucco are Mediterranean elements but the light blue shutters and lower railing are less so. I would suggest removing the shutters and either removing the railing or replacing it with a black rod iron one to be more consistent with Mediterranean style. If you live in a planned community that requires pre-approval of architectural changes other than approved paint colors, you'd have to get the sign-off on that first.

I agree with Elle! I love stucco homes with red tile roofs painted in a creamy beige or a warm gold! If you do not want beige at all, just paint it an antique or creamy white.

Also Elle, We planned on taking down the shutters, thanks for confirming. We don't live in a planned community and are considering removing or replacing the railing as you suggested.

Something taupe with a green undertone. No shutters....for so many reasons. Outline the windows in a darker color.

Thanks Judy. I uploaded a photo of my house to the BM website, so I can try out colors. BM 992 is a great color but doesn't look good with my pinkish tiles; that's the trouble I'm having. My neighbors have red, brown darker tiles. It seems like the only colors that look good with my house are beiges, and light gold / yellow. Or perhaps Graham Cracker 1113 which is darker. Even the white-ish colors don't seem to work. So, I'm looking for a warm, lighter gold color or may have to stick to the color that it is now.

How about either of these? I think they will go with the roof.

You have most likely painted your home by now. We agonized over the type of paint and the color for our Costa Brava Casa beach home with terrecotta tile roof. It is on the Pacific Ocean in Baja, Mexico. The house looked pretty good in photos but a closer look showed many years of 'licks and promises' of varying shades of overlapping gold/yellow tones. The trim was white and showed dirty runs on it from rusty nail marks. We wanted to avoid the inevitable rust stains that come so quickly from ocean air so we tried to match the tile color for the trim and chose a lighter more sandy color for the exterior walls. Also, we were looking for durability and easy to hose off paint.

We live in Canada and hired locals in the Mexican community to paint. It was an ordeal getting it all organized from a distance! We finally settled on Behr Elastomeric for the stucco walls. The color we chose is 'Dune'. For the trim, we chose 'Fire-Roasted' by Behr. In hindsight, I would have tried harder (used a piece of real terrecotta) to match trim to roof tiles.I might change trim color or maybe just live with it and let the salt, sun and wind weather the color to be just right.

Did you ever decide on an exterior paint color? I have a very similar house to yours and would love to know how it ended up. Trying to paint both stucco and trim very soon. Thanks!
