The low slung roof line plus the low Japanese maple right front makes me think you might want to go for a Japanese vibe?

It looks like the previous started down an Asian inspired path on the right side of the house but forgot the left.

Is that a style you actually would like to embrace and take from or are you looking to get away from it?

I think a modern front door with windows and replacing the mound of shrubs on the right side of the driveway would look nice.

Thanks for the input! If it screams a Japanese vibe I would try to embrace it, although it might not be my first choice. As long as it's a cohesive look. I like a traditional with modern look as well. Maybe a cool modern light fixture. Thoughts on how to fill the empty space to the left of the door and color combos of house paint? Agree that you need larger/more modern lights and more substantial house numbers as well. That plus a new door will go a long way. You do sort of need something to the left of the door -- could be a planter and trellis or high plant, a chair (although adirondack feels wrong), maybe with a wall tile, or some sculpture. Maybe a bench on the left wall would be more welcoming, and a planter by the door?

You could push the Asian theme with a little water feature or a wooden slat trellis too. Have fun!

Looks like there are some darker taupe/tan shades in the roof. A deeper color with the current trim could look very striking.

As a starter to see just what your style is in this ranch style home, trim up all trim-able plants. Cut back anything that is overflowing onto cement. Choose a color you love and paint the front door and possibly place a cheep bench or chair of the same color on that porch. Then you will get a real feel for just what you want to do. That may be keep some, pull some, plant some. Add shutters, plant something that would give height to the house on the right ( and left far side of deck steps). Possibly plant a bush between the two left windows that you could keep at a roof height!

I like the clean, neutral backdrop of your current color. I wouldn't add shutters since you don't have room for the appropriate size and they don't fit the style of your house. I think the best thing you can do is to pull out all the shrubs on the left. Ground cover like ajuga will fill in the area nicely and then you can add other plants like pampas grass with something tall between the windows. I would definitely add more modern lights and house numbers. Instead of an adirondack chair, a small, simple bench would be nice. I think a dark wood door is a great idea!

If you could send a close up of the roof colors that might help.

The landscaping is nice and I'm sure it could be much better! Since you have a nice asphalt shingle roof, it is a good candidate to upgrade to a lightweight Artezanos Hybrid Roof Tile System. This way as your descending down the road, your home would be very unique.
