Haha that's funny.. Same zone too! At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if we're growing some of the same varieties this season lol..

Is there a special way to harvest tomato seeds? I would like to save seeds as I do with my peppers so I can participate in seed swaps or give away's.

To me they're similar in taste to Black Krim, but with a more old-fashioned deep tomato-ey taste somewhere in there. My daughter, who is very "blah" about tomatoes, loves them more than any type I've grown so far. My first year growing them as well...they are very striking to look at, too.

Out of 55 plants, I grew four PBTD this year, and they have been excellent producers, and very tasty fruit. I saved seed from the first one I picked, and started a few in dixie cups. Those seedlings will start to harden off this week, and then they will go in my fall garden. I am zone 7a.

Mike, I have a small garden with limited sunny areas, so can't grow a lot. I wish I could plant dozens just like many of you. This year, I have:

In smaller pots:
- Lime Green Salad
- Red Robin OP
- Hahm's Gelbe Topftomate

That stinks Gorbelly, I'm in a similar situation with a smallish yard.. Actually going to be looking to sell and relocate next year, mostly due to my need for more land. I too am growing Black beauty (first time), Cherokee Purple (wonderful variety), and Black cherry (a favorite cherry of mine). You should give Ananas Noire, and Chocolate Cherry a try next time around - if you haven't already of course.
