My new living room-help please!

This picture shows the old homeowners furniture, I am trying to decide what will fit best. The picture is taken from the arched entryway that I don't want to block. We have a 42" flat screen tv that will be watched in this room. What pieces should I buy? How should I arrange furniture and tv? Any suggestions are appreciated!!
