This is off the dining room before walking to the hall that leads to the bedroom. Kitchen to the right of the bar. I'm not necessarily looking for color as my place has a black/brown/beige theme (small one bedroom apartment after all. Not too much room for all sorts of different themes)

if you look at it from the other side it reflects the window which is nice but looking at it from the couch (first photo) I agree it doesn't reflect much but the kitchen opening

OK better but take a picture of all four sides of your room.

The mirror isn't a good choice that space. You need something but again it's hard to say without more context.

Can you turn it and hang it the other way? Add a few photos with black frames next to it.

Look for a shallow console table to put underneath. Something that won't get in the way as you walk by there, but will give you someplace to put pretty things (a vase or lamp or candles or a pretty bowl) on top. Then make that spot a little vignette. I think it'll be fine.

There is no more room for anything on the floor on my apartment. There isn't much walking space as it is.

The mirror is lonely. It either needs something to ground it from below (such as a console table or cabinet) or it needs to be larger scale. I suppose you could try to add some smaller art around it to increase the visual impact, but I don't know that it will work. Another option is to bring in another tall plant like you have next to your TV. Not ideal, but might help you visually fill space from below.

Since you like it so much, can you buy another one and hang them vertically.

You're off to a great start in your space, just need to add a little oomph. I agree with to buy one more and hang next to each other vertically. Or get two more and hand all three horizontally from floor to ceiling. i'll try to find a pic of what I mean.

some other ideas: area rug and pillows for the living room space. I see a little red in the art above your bar. you can pull in a little red with throw pillows but still keep most of the room neutral.

So two would be overkill, but one looks bare. Try the two (or three) and then return them if you don't think it looks right. You've got a good group advising you; use some of these free resources :)

Do you have photoshop? It's a great way to try some things in your room without purchasing anything. Also, try the houzz purchasing app on your smartphone. click on 'ty it in your room" and you can take a picture of your room with the product (like an extra mirror) in the correct location.

Yes and I appreciate all this advice, I do! But for now I'm hoping to just have one mirror so what about just some ideas for putting something around or underneath the mirror to "beef it up"?? Rectangular panoramic artwork underneath perhaps?

maybe move the mirror somewhere else and put a couple of shelves up.

Still hoping for anyone to comment on what options I might have not with a table or console but with artwork or some sort of wall decor to place around or beneath the mirror to help with the visual appeal.

I think the only way to make it work is by lowering and adding something underneath, but you mentioned you didn't want a table - see idea below. It has to feel more substantial, as the mirror is lost on that large wall. You could also walk around and try it in different rooms and then add some large art there instead.

What's really needed instead of that mirror, is a big _ _ _, piece of artwork. For the fun of it, can you put the piece of artwork that you have over the sofa where the mirror is to see if it works. Then you can decide further.
