It depends on the slab. Done have much more goldy brown veining than others. I’d go more brassy gold than copper with the slabs I’ve seen.

They are the same. Could be the lighting or the part of each particular slab that makes the pictures look different. The veining varies a little bit between slabs, but overall, the slabs are the same, meaning the veins all go in the same direction if you have two slabs side by side.

Is Quartz Master manufactured in China? I've been digging through their website and they seem to be rather evasive about where the Quartz is actually made.

This post has been the most helpful I have found yet. For those still looking I have found some additional brands that I love. Another that I absolutely love is the Compaq Unique Calacatta and it is made in Spain but I am having a hard time getting four slabs shipped to Kentucky.

I almost settled on the Silestone Eternal Series Calacatta Gold but I am just not sure. I have white cabinets and a very traditional house which gold knobs and appliance pulls. I just looked into the Verona and the Quartz Masters that some of the readers of the post suggested. But once again shipping to Kentucky is the issue. I have been fretting over this for 9 months and recently released my three slabs of Calacatta Gold Marble I had on hold. I am just too anal for etching with three kids.

Desperate for help. Looking for a warmer toned Calacatta Quartz.

What about the Eternal Calacatta Gold for you from Silestone? My only worry was seaming, so I went with the Caesarstone instead.

Hello, everyone! I am purchasing a condo that is almost a complete gut job... We will be painting the shaker cabinets in the kitchen white, and I would like some sort of marble-look quartz with a shiny, flat, white, 3x6 subway tile backsplash. I also want to top my kitchen table with the quartz as well and use it for the bathroom vanities.

I noticed some of you have white cabinets... would you mind sharing what color you painted them? I would like to carry the color of my kitchen cabinets throughout the condo with doors and trim in the same color. Also, I am thinking of the Eternal Calacatta Gold N-boost Silestone. Any thoughts on that? I do love the look of real marble but I don't think I can keep up with the maintenance of it. Does the N-Boost cost more than regular Silestone?

I decided against the calacatta. it is super tough to match the seams on that one and I believe the n boost can be problematic for some. I went with the Ceasarstone in the Statuario Maximus because it matched my cabinets, but I like the Nuvo a lot! it's very white and the stat max is creamy white. They come on the 7th for installation.

Hi Lily, I know one of the people I spoke with said they had gotten some pencil on it, and struggled to get it out. He eventually used some Vim and apparently it took the finish off.

Hi everyone, I am in same boat, and so thrilled to have found this thread. I want Calcutta gold, but need much goldy/copper veining as my house decor has much bronze, copper and dark woods with light blondish wood flooring. Have such a hard time finding Calcutta Gold, whether it be Quartz, Quartzite or Marble. The pic far above with the island that then has an attached table, with the deep gold/copperish veins/striations is perfect, but where to find that? I am so exhausted from the search, but appreciate finding you guys

In my humble opinion, quartz is an excellent choice for counter tops, but if you like Calcutta Gold marble there is no product in the market that will even come close, the look simply cannot be duplicated

Wow, I'm kind of amazed at how many people need the gold/copper veining (including me). So glad I can keep an eye on this thread. Lots of suggestions to explore. And a huge thanks to all who have posted pics - helps so much!

FWIW I would like to add my voice to the throng of people here, hoping if I comment it will re-energize this conversation and someone will steer me to the perfect countertop. I was totally convinced the Silestone Eternal Calacatta Gold was exactly what I wanted and I've been working off my suede finish sample (that had a couple nice streaks of copper veining) to select all the other materials in our kitchen & the open living space it flows into with the removal of several walls.

Then last week went to pick my slabs at the Cosentino Center outside Atlanta and - lo and behold - there was barely a hint of the gold/copper veining on anything they had there. Even the gray veining seemed really faded. The women we spoke to seemed surprised by the difference between my sample and the slabs, mentioned they may be using a "new formula."

Now I am working backwards as the clock is ticking, trying to find just the right countertop that works with all the other materials that are ready to go. Choices are limited somewhat by the fact that I do not want a polished surface. Dekton has some nice colors but I don't like the "pebbly" feel. Better though, to be disappointed with the slabs Silestone is producing now than surprised by installed countertops that didn't meet my expectations. I ALMOST didn't make the 2 hour drive to see these slabs, thinking since they are a manufactured product they would be fairly uniform and similar to my sample.

So, yes, I am feeling pretty crazy right now but it could be much worse and I know there is something out there that will be just fine, once I get off my high horse about everything having to be "perfect." Sometimes setbacks like this are just what the doctor ordered to keep life in perspective!

Hi Lynda, not sure if you read my post above. I did the exact same thing as you. Everything coordinated to the Calacatta Gold. At the last minute I switched to the Caesarstone Statuario Maximus. No copper in it, but it looks fantastic next to the highlights with my handles etc. Good luck!

I read through this hoping to find THE ANSWER to my marble alternative needs. I actually fell in love with the Neolith Calacatta at the Marva showroom. I crossed my fingers hoping it was doable - but NO! Despite that my fabricator has done a decent amount of Neolith, the production costs are so incredibly high that it is not a practical choice if I actually want to finish my kitchen. The Neolith quote for my kitchen was just under 20K. My kitchen isn't huge - my island certainly isn't, but I do have a decent amount of counters around the perimeter. I'm headed up to Richmond tomorrow to find something to work! None of the quartz samples are really grabbing me (at least nothing I can get around here in Virginia). I found a Polarstone online that looked pretty, but it isn't sold anywhere close.

Christina, not sure if you've looked at MSI Q quartz, but that's what I ended up with after being underwhelmed by the slabs I saw of Silestone Eternal Calacatta Gold. (Nothing against the product itself, the slabs just appeared more faded and had much less copper veining than my sample). I had to compromise on finish ( I really wanted matte or suede, but the MSI "Calacatta Laza" pattern I liked was only available polished). Check the MSI Stone website to see If there are any showrooms where you are going tomorrow, fwiw it might be worth a look if you haven't considered it. I have about 2 weeks to go until my countertops are installed, but I'm hopeful it all turns out.

i was wondering if anyone else‘s Silestone eternal Calacatta gold has odd ‘drip’ like spots all over that are not within the veining pattern? We are remodeling our house and our countertops were just installed. These drips make it look like the countertops are stained. It is very obvious on our island. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Linda - I am wondering how your countertops turned out? Calacatta Laza was actually one I had initially considered. I am going with something called Calacatta Caprice which is part of the Italian Collection house brand at Classic Granite and Marble in Richmond, Virginia. After looking and looking, I am excited for these counters which should be installed this month.

Christina our (installed) tops are mostly under wraps right now to protect them from damage while the last of the work is done. From what I am seeing, though, I’m quite happy with the Calacatta Laza. We are less than a week til move-in (this has been nearly a whole-house project). If I can figure out how to post photos once we’re back in I will do so. If that’s your backsplash tile in the photos it’s a similar color to ours, which are a concrete-look porcelain.

What is your tile? Ours is MSI Morning Fog.

Hi, am doing a full kitchen remodel and am looking for a Quartz countertop that goes well with antique off white glazed cabinets. Saw the Cambria Brittanicca Gold and absolutely fell in love with that slab. Here in MIami Florida, we are very fortunate to have many manufacturers of Quartz. Representatives of Cambria & Compac are the two that I've been seeing and their materials are amazing. Since you can see the full slab you get a better idea rather than just seeing a very tiny sample. My kitchen is not large enough to use the Brittanicca Gold since the vein is large, it's' more for a large area where you don't need to cut and can use the whole slab. Cambria is expensive, but it is unreal especially BRITTANICCA GOLD!!! I'm in love.

I've been looking for an alternative to Calicatta Gold marble because I need a touch of gold to tie in to my honey oak cabinets. I have been looking for over 2 years hoping I would find something I like. Every quartz color I have seen is a poor substitute. They just don't look natural, have the depth of marble and lack the gold veining. I'm about to give up.

Oh Jan...I gave up long ago as well and went with Cambria Windermere. I too have oak cabinets. We love it:)

Silestone Eternal Calacatta Gold quartz should provide the look you are looking for. Quartz is better than marble because it's more durable, easier to clean and care for, and has the uniform look which is great if that's something you're looking for.

Hello! In case anyone is still wondering what makes quartz a better option than marble I can help. Quartza will not stain chip have ring marks or get rust spots. We are going with the msi calacatta gold bc it is the closest you will get to the real thing. I do wish it had more gold in it but at 1/3 of the price it is a compromise I will make.

I am currently debating Silestone Eternal Calacatta, compac unique calacatta and neolith calacatta. I think compac may be the front runner for me but looking for input from anyone that has these.

I'm interested in feedback on looks, durability and whether to get the honed or polished finish. I would get the silk finish in Neolith but not sure whether honed or polished would be better for the quartz options. Is honed quartz difficult to maintain? Which looks more like real marble - honed or polished?

I realize this is probably too late for the original poster, but Silestone "Pulsar" has both copper tones and gray in it. I'm not sure but silestine "Lyra" looks like it also might have warm tones plus gray in it. (I've only seen a tiny sample of Lyra) Silestone "Calcutta Gold" was named poorly. It is a BEAUTIFUL quartz that truly resembles marble, but there is really no gold in it. It is only shades of gray.

bumpty bump bump on this thread, kitchen remodel is complete, minus the fact that i cant commit to any stone option :( i need the exact same thing a white base with gold veining, all our faucets are from the delta champagne bronze collection and i love love love marble, i could find that in a heart beat, but i am terrified to use that in the kitchen, anyone come across anything lately???

I think Viaterra "Lumina" is quite beautiful and ordered it. It's not installed yet (in 5 days!). It looks very much like real marble and does not have huge streaks running through it. The best advise I can give you is to see a FULL slab of any color you are thinking of. Take a list with you of possibilities. So many that I really liked in small doses were overwhelming in large pieces. So many of them had HUGE and I mean HUGE streaks of color. The small samples, even if it is a whole mock kitchen, are nothing like what you may get. I had to go to 2 warehouses, and I looked at "Lumina" at both and I liked it both places. i will try to find this site again in a week, and I'll post a photo. My backsplash will not be up in 5 days, but light gray subway tile looks great with it.

Margo- here's the description from the Viatera website. I think it might be exactly what you are looking for: "Lumina is a long veined white design with warm grey and golden veins. Spider webbing between the veins capturing the realism of natural stone. Lumina’s beauty is ageless. This color exhibits increased movement and variation of color and pattern which cannot be fully recognized on some samples."

Brittany Davis- I bought an antique marble-topped buffet that came with a stain on it. there is no humanly way possible to get the stain out (maybe grinding it down professionally) I bought a brand new marble threshold that got stained, and again, the average person cannot remove stains from marble. I don't know how well the sealant they use on it is, but if you cook every day, try to get a quartz. One more thing- if you leave anything with vinegar or acetone on quartz, that will leave a permanent ring too, but it doesn't stain. It just effects the finish.

@Lois Barber can you post the photos of Lumina installed? Where were you able to see slabs? Finding it hard to track down. Thank you!

My Lumina was installed yesterday. I cannot get the camera to see the exact color of the background because of natural sunlight and artificial in the same photo. It seems to go nicely with white cabinets and my wood peninsula. The one wide streak is very feathered, and not a solid streak like in the Calcutta series of quarts. Here is a close-ip of the big streak. that's my shadow that you might be seeing as the dark splotch.

Here is the whole peninsula of Lumina . It is lighter than it appears, Not so gray in the background. I sent you a link to possible places near you in Boston that might have a full slab. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. My local Home Depot sells Viatera, but not this color because it's new. However, HD in New Jersey carry it. They might be test-marketing the color in certain locations. Try you local HD.
