Irises!

I planted the orange one late last year and am happy to see it bloom now! I discovered the fragrance of irises this year, they really do smell "sweet". I am really happy with the ruffles of the orange, and the tall purple is striking and smells like grape soda!

Now I might try some more colours, perhaps I'll add some pink and dark reds next year!

prairie_northrose, they are very nice! I especially like the orange ones! What an unusual colour.

How do you get them to bloom so profusely like yours? Mine bloom nicely, but not profusely, and I am wondering how to get them to go nuts with the blooms!? Anyone???

I'm not sure how it happened, but after many years, my Immortality suddenly decided to bloom profusely this year - it has had five blooms already!

I don't do much to them, perhaps it is a good year. These are also in full sun, in dry clay soil, planted shallow. No fertilizer this year. The blooms do not last very long, the photo is from their best day.

The variety 'Zebra' has impressed me the most with its strong fragrance!
