Totally agree with Mega Builders.

I hope they are trending out. Dark wood floors have a place in certain homes there is no doubt about that. But my hope (and my sales are showing me) that dark wood (the "dark" one's not the "mid-tone floors") are going the way of the Dodo once again.

There are some instances where dark wood floors can look beautiful! However, if it's not a perfect match, then it will likely look dated.

I think it all depends on the home. Dark may not be as popular right now but it will never go away IMO, such as it is.

I wouldn't say that dark wood floors are a trend. I hope that people install what they like and what goes with the house. You can have modern home with both dark and light floors,,it depends on the look you want.

Word is getting around that very dark floors show every speck of dust, paw print and hair.

It looks like the new trend is the lighter floors!

Light floors are definitely "in" right now.... but dark floors wood floors will never be out of style!

Medium floors, like polished chrome plumbing fittings are always current. There is a place for dark floors, but they are currently being overused, like white marble counters!
