Where to hang curtains?

This is what our window will look like on our new house and an issue just occurred to me--- where do we hang out curtains? It doesn't seem right to put the rod into the trim but also I don't live idea of a tension rod. Just in case it isn't clear- there is no space above the trim before the ceiling.

You would have to add the rod to the wall, but wanted to mention that the width of the drapes will be quite wide if pulling across for privacy and with the narrowness of the wall on the right, most of the drapery will be over the far left and right windows. Have you considered roman blinds instead and rods would be above each window.

Yeah I think no drapes on these windows. You don't have enough space on the sides to accommodate the width of fabric it would take to close them. Either blinds or roman shades.

What a our Román shades? I think they re a Great option for your Windows

Thanks for the opinions, I'll look into the roman shades, not what I wanted to do but it may be the only choice... Unless we leave them uncovered.

If you don't need the privacy, wait to decide until you live with them a bit.

I think you're right Maureen. Our lot has a hill right behind and many trees. Due to our location no one has a direct line of sight into the area so it's a real possibility that we could forgo them.

The whole back side of my house is windows-- literally 2 story wall of windows in living room, then floor to ceiling bay windows in breakfast room, similar windows to yours in family room. The only windows I have any covers on in the back are the master bedroom. We don't need the privacy either and I just love the light.
