Does Pokeberry pose a threat to other plants in terms of its feeding habits? Can it harm nearby trees or shrubs because of its water or nutrient diet? I ask because I grow it as an ornamental in a particular part of my yard where its foliage and size (not to mention the berries for birds) is perfect. I am well aware of its toxicity to humans, and it is surrounded on all sides by boxwood and pines that would prevent anyone from accidentally eating it --- lol.
