How much is it off? Can you give us a picture? Are the borders plain fabric? How wide are they? Are the sides the same size but longer than the center? How about the width? Sorry for all the questions but there's a lot to consider.

The borders are plain black fabric, not nice stuff - has an almost plastic feel to it, anyway, they are cut 5.25" wide. There is a smaller gray print border, cut to 2", will finish at 1.5". Now about how far off it is: the center measured 96.5", one side measured 96", the other was 97.25". I'm only dealing with the length of this thing and keep in mind it has been quilted up to the smaller gray border, I really do not desire to rip it all out. I'll try to snap a photo and get it posted but that will be probably tomorrow - have other obligations tonight. Thanks thus far.

If you can re-attach the black, I'd then quilt it in straight lines, perpendicular to length, about an inch apart. This ladder effect will do wonders for wavy borders. Ignore the strange size and just make the best of it. It is what it is. She can't ask any more of you than that.

Do what Linda (toolgranny) suggested. You might be able to ease some of the longer side but with it already quilted, not sure. Good morning ladies & thank you for the ideas. I had initially thought of the ladder effect and will probably pursue that. I have resized the length of these 2 borders to 96.5" and some change and have pinned one side. The longer side is really give me fits and I'm thinking I need to trim off some of that side to aid in easing the rest of it. As I said before, silly me for not checking this before beginning, lesson learned I guess. It will be what it is but the perfectionist in me is not happy about it. Thank you again for your input.
