Kitchen sink replacement help!!

I have this awful American Standard Americast model 7145 kitchen sink that I've hated since the day we bought the house (over 9 years ago now!). It constantly looks dirty, scratched and dinged and it needs to go. I've contacted a few places and American Standard no longer makes this model so a direct switch isn't possible and most places I've contacted are suggesting an over mount sink (because of the weird shape) which is not what I want. I love my countertop so changing it isn't an option. Does anyone have any suggestions? My preference is to keep the under mount but switch it to stainless steel.

I understand that this thread has been inactive for quite some time, but I wanted to share valuable information for families considering replacing their discontinued or poorly designed sinks. Many believe that the only option is to replace the entire countertop, but there are alternative options beyond ours. Customers have found granite companies to cut and polish in place, offering a great deal of opportunity for a broad selection of sink brands. Our typical custom sink service allows us to address this issue involving cutting the stone, which is a straightforward and relatively inexpensive task. Granite companies may be hesitant to perform this work, often suggesting a complete countertop replacement and warning about the risk of cracking the stone.

However, our experience over the past two decades has proven otherwise. Not one of our customers has experienced a cracked countertop while using our custom sink service. Tile installers and general contractors typically have the necessary tools and skills to execute this kind of work successfully.

Please find attached some before and after photos showcasing the results of our custom sink installations. We hope this information can help families make informed decisions about their sink replacement options.

You can have it refinished. I know you hate it but if you don't want a drop in and you don't want to replace the countertops that is about your only option.

I had a similar AS kitchen sink. Never had a problem with it, but I purchased grids for the bottom to protect the finish, which I would do even with stainless steel. Also, I never used anything but soap to clean it. You can't use kitchen cleanser like Comet any of these sinks. It ruins the finish.

I kept my old white cast iron sink white and clean with a nightly spritz of Clorox Clean Up and an occasional deep cleaning with Bar Keeper's Friend. Perhaps some Bar Keepers Friend can give the old sink new life:)

You might ask at a kitchen and design store is anyone is aware of a sink that will come close to fitting.

I've had a "Swanstone" sink for over 20 years and love it - it is beige with speckles throughout - a nice change from all the stainless or porcelain. Trying cleaning with “The Pink Stuff” and a scrub daddy! It works wonders and will get any stain out of a sink!! It’s super cheap like 5-6 dollars at Walmart or Menards depending where you live. You can order them on Amazon as well.

That upper left corner is an exposed portion of the stainless steel faucet deck of a dual mount sink. It is a little funky but I would plop my scrubber or a bottle of Dawn in that spot. Then it would look like you intended it to be that way.

ci_lantro is correct ^. The radii in the corners overhangs quite a bit and the negative reveals are off, but some folks think those are small esthetic tradeoffs for saving money over a cutout change:

We provide the new sink, disconnect the plumbing, remove the existing sink, clean the stone bottom, silicone and strap the new sink in place, reconnect the plumbing, and test for $1,900.00, which is our least expensive sink replacement. Double that for the cutout change (perfect slight positive reveals) pictured above. I'm a licensed Florida plumbing contractor, CFC1431399, which is a requirement to change sinks here and they're quite strict.
