Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I couldn't find anything dealing with bugs.

In my front yard I have a crazy amount of houseflies buzzing around. I feel it is likely due to neighbour cat activity, but I haven't actually found any leavings. I don't want to kill them, and I refuse to use any pesticides, so I need any suggestions for a natural deterrent.

Since it is specifically a pollinator garden designed to attract bees and butterflies, I need something that will not affect them. I don't mind the wasps, either.

I read about cloves being effective, but I am concerned it will also deter the other insects.

Any suggestions?
