Mosaic HardieBoard Question- Will it break?

I'm starting an outdoor mosaic to hang on the garage, it's about 2ft x2ft. I'm wondering if the weight of the mosaic could break or crack the HardieBoard? It's the thinnest version of HardieBoard. Should I attach wood braces to the back of the concrete board? Suggestions? It's so heavy I'm just worried it could accidentally bend and break during the installation? I've done tables before not never a hanging piece. I appreciate any advice or suggestions.

I know it's been a while since you posted this question but I wonder, have you completed your mosaic? Can you share a photo and what you ended up doing it on?
