Assuming you follow each step of the recipe instructions then yes you can use that recipe with okra. Whether you will like the results or not I can't say having never used it for okra.

No you cannot just use the syrup recipe and can. The several days of fermentation and reheating of the water and syrup are required for safety.

Ok my husband loves the pickles.So I thought I would attempt it with okra.It tastes so similar to wickles okra and we love their okra.Thanks for responding.
