Bathroom wall/tile color help please!

This is the small bathroom in my house. It has a shower, sink, toilet, no tub, and very few storage areas. I bought the white cabinet shown in the photo and was thinking of painting the original wooden sink cabinet white. Right now the wall is a light beige (as is every room in the house), and so is the tile in the shower aka DULL. Any suggestions for wall color (or anything else) to liven this boring bathroom up? Thanks so much.

FYI I am a young bachelor living in my first purchased home.

With all due respect to your design professionalism, the gray shown in the swatch on your link looks very dark to go in such a small space. Whether male or female, the lighter grays are good choice in my opinion. Grays do not appear girly at all in my opinion. With black accents they give a masculine feel. Every one of my rooms in my home are painted with BM, Horizon. In one room, I have used lots of black and sparse wall art, and it has a high tech, sharp look.

Hello bachelor... I wouldn't see reason to change tile.... probably not even the paint.

Maybe slightly rustic handles / in-between tone called gunmetal [oil rubbed bronze possibly too dark brown with all your nice satin nickel]. Leave the wood as it is... ok to have white cabinet - buy art or towels that also look good with white [or have white in them].

It would seem the white unit should go over the toilet / no bumping into it - and towel bar not.

On side wall art could go over the towel bar....is there room for all that?

My suggestions are to: move cabinet above toilet as suggested above, and paint walls a neutral shade.

The stone counter is nice. Perhaps upgrade the faucet, lighten the floor grout and install wheels on the cabinet if you decide not to hang it.

And I am all for painting the vanity too! This color wood stands out in the wrong way for some reason.

May I please say that I agree there is no need to change your tile and I'm not against any of the vanity colors. What can I say: PAINT THOSE WALLS! If you are a bachelor I personally would not use the soft colors recommended above. I mean, seriously, I have those colors in my office and in my very girly guest bedroom. Go for a masculine gray tone that is rich in color and will work with the beige tiles.

With the darker cabinet go lighter in shade but still stay within a brown/gray tone and add pops of color. Pick a team you love for color inspiration and then step the shades down. If I walked into a bachelor's home and saw Sea Salt or pastel colors I would swear the ex-girlfriend had selected the colors!

Just for the sake of giving ideas, consider keeping the vanity wood as has been suggested and go with a masculine rustic / industrial look. You could go with oil rubbed bronze pulls, faucet and towel bar and some interesting rustic lighting. You could get a wood wall cabinet or get thick rustic shelving.

You can make your own thick rustic shelves very inexpensively from scrap lumber from a home center store if you have the tools and like doing that sort of thing. Here are some I am working on:

I would use simpler brackets than I did, or look into the pipe shelf brackets for an industrial vibe. I have stained vanities and one white vanity in my home. The white one takes the most upkeep.

Just another instance of mixing metal finishes. You could if you want place a nice mirror like this don't have to.... then you'd Have to paint. :)
