String Trimmer Questions

I have a Troy Built TB625EC string trimmer with one of those 4 double string heads on it. The thing is crap. Hard to start and when it does start it runs like crap. To me it doesn't seem to cut worth a damn either - complete junk.

We live in Boynton Beach Florida and have a lot of lawn, so conversely we have a lot of areas that have to be cut with a trimmer along patio/fence/trees/garden. Our "lawn" is about half wild grass and things grow very fast down here. Because we are trying to sell a house in Arizona we have to go back and forth a lot so there are times when the grass is growing for 2-3 weeks when we can't get at it. Can get 6-10 inches high. The riding lawn mower takes care of the lawn - the trimming is what is putting me in the grave.

I need something that cuts good and is light weight. (sorry for this long winded post)

A lot of the weeds/grass we have to trim is along fence and concrete block walls, around trees, etc.

Here are my two main questions - feel free to comment on anything:

1. Because of trimming around hard objects using a trimmer with those hard plastic blades probably would not work - correct?

2. Is there any particular type of string head that cuts better than others.

3. Is there any difference in cutting ability between a head that has 2, 3 or 4 strings; and same question for those quick load heads that have double strings.
