Too much sun on the tomatoes?

10 years ago

I have several San Marzano tomatoes plants. They've been doing wonderfully and have tons of green tomatoes on them. Unfortunately they've developed a leaf spot and I've removed essentially the bottom half of all the branches. This leaves a lot of exposed tomatoes. Should I shade them from the sun?
