Usually our only fruit fly is the plain,hover over the compost pile types. Cal Ag monitors all over the state for Med Fly. I see those triangle boxes all over.

I like the "Delicious" part ! i They are said to be very good container plants but I think I will plant it. Container plants just don't do justice to fruit from tree's in the ground. Plus I notice a plant in ground needs less water to give 100x better results...my estimates.

I had a strawberry guava which sucked. The seeds were killer. We got rid of it. This lemon thing has me intrigued. Staying tuned for a review on the fruit.

Well it's too bad you folks are not closer, I have a bumper crop this year.

I agree on the strawberry guava taste, definitely not worth the effort but whats up with the seeds Suzi? Mine were softish and edible.

i had my first one a few weeks ago. i loved the flavor.

the fruit set was so heavy i had to stake the tree. i will have to do some serious pruning to get this thing to grow correctly.

its also an easy to grow plant. almost a weed.

@greenman62 what are it's requirements? Soil, sun, water, temps?

they grow easily. they can withstand mid 20s pretty easy as a tree. protect seedlings though.

it likes water, but can handle a short dry spell.

if you want to grow from seed, toptrops has a larger-fruit variety right now.
